Ask your own AI where we fit

Your ChatGPT or Claude already knows you and your company. Give it this prompt: it reads my public profile and tells you, honestly, where Orange Hill and I could help and what the smartest first step together would be. Your context stays with your AI provider and never reaches us.

The “Open in…” buttons copy the prompt and open a new chat — just paste (⌘/Ctrl+V).

Use this if your AI can't open links — it pastes the whole profile inline.

Profile

Tihomir Opačić

Founder and CEO of Orange Hill. Software builder for more than 20 years, AI consultant and educator, and since 2026 working on data for robot learning (physical AI). Based between Vienna and Belgrade. Speaks Serbian and English.

In short

  • Founded Orange Hill in 2007, a small senior software studio, today AI-native: most of its delivery runs on AI agents, directed and reviewed by people. Orange Hill Development d.o.o. in Belgrade and Orange Hill GmbH in Vienna.
  • 20+ years of building software: web and mobile applications, APIs and content platforms for national institutions, telecoms and global brands.
  • Helped build the Laravel community in Serbia through conference talks, meetups and workshops. Orange Hill was among the first companies in Serbia to ship responsive web design, single-page applications and Jamstack sites.
  • Created Photon CMS, a headless content management platform that powers backends for the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Telekom Srbija and Bayanat AI.
  • AI education and workshops: runs hands-on AI workshops for leadership and development teams, built around a working prototype of the team's own most painful workflow rather than slides.
  • AI process automation: designs and ships production automations (document intelligence, lead qualification, multi-agent systems, CRM and browser automation) on the client's real data and tools.
  • Robotics and physical AI (new in 2026): building a capture and processing pipeline for human motion data (egocentric video of real work) for companies that train robots. See robotics-and-physical-ai.md.
  • Community builder: founder and host of the Physical AI Belgrade meetup and the Closed Loop podcast; long-time host of IT community podcasts in Serbia. See community.md.

Roles today

  • CEO, Orange Hill (Orange Hill Development d.o.o., Belgrade, and Orange Hill GmbH, Vienna).
  • CTO, SmrtStats, a sports data and analytics company.

How he works

  • Starts from the real problem and a working prototype, not from a strategy deck.
  • Says so when something is better solved without AI, with a simpler automation, or by the client's own team.
  • Pushes clients toward independence: the goal of an engagement is that the team can build and extend things on its own.
  • Writes about AI and how it changes software and work in the Dispatches on orangehill.ai/en/dispatches.

Orange Hill

Orange Hill

Orange Hill is a small, senior, AI-native software studio founded by Tihomir Opačić in 2007, with offices in Belgrade (Orange Hill Development d.o.o.) and Vienna (Orange Hill GmbH). It builds and maintains platforms for high-profile clients and runs most of its delivery on AI agents, with people owning direction and the quality bar. Website: https://orangehill.ai

What Orange Hill does

1. AI automation and workflow development

Production systems that take repetitive, rule-based or data-heavy work off a team: processing invoices, qualifying leads, generating compliant documents, monitoring data for anomalies. Multi-agent systems, browser automation, document intelligence and CRM integrations, built on the client's real data and tools, documented and handed over to the client's team.

2. AI consultancy and education

Workshops and training for leadership and development teams. Before the session, Orange Hill finds the team's most painful workflow and builds a working prototype around it, so the workshop starts with something real. The goal is independence: teams that can build their own automations and extend their own workflows with AI tools. For development teams this includes AI-native delivery, meaning how to direct coding agents (for example Claude Code) and review their output, which is how Orange Hill itself works.

3. Software development

Web applications, mobile apps (iOS and Android, React Native) and APIs. Most web projects combine Photon CMS (Orange Hill's own headless CMS) for the API layer with Next.js on the frontend. Backend in PHP and Laravel, also Node.js.

How an engagement works

  1. Discovery workshop: map the problem, find the highest-leverage opportunities, agree on what success looks like in measurable terms.
  2. Prototype first: for automation, a working prototype on the client's real data before a full build; for software, an architectural prototype and proof of concept; for education, prototypes built around the team's own pain points.
  3. Hand-over: the client's team is trained to operate, extend and own what was built.

Orange Hill is selective about new engagements. If the fit is not right, it says so.

Selected clients and work

  • Serbian Chamber of Commerce (pks.rs): platform built on Photon CMS.
  • Telekom Srbija (m:tel brand): web platform backends on Photon CMS.
  • m:tel Austria: web platform and mobile apps.
  • Bayanat AI (UAE): backend on Photon CMS.
  • Eucerin: Beauty Path web and mobile app.
  • The Coca-Cola Company (Nestea): interactive promotion platform across Hungary, Austria and Switzerland, delivered over more than two years of digital promotions.
  • ANEM (anem.org.rs): full-stack rebuild with Photon CMS and Next.js; a project estimated at 28 days delivered in 5 with AI-assisted development.
  • Playerhunter (Austria): platform connecting professional athletes with managers.

What clients say

"We recently had the pleasure of attending an AI workshop organized by Tihomir. The workshop was incredibly engaging and tailored specifically to the needs of our team, far from the generic sessions we often see." (Damnjan Matejić, CTO)

"I had the pleasure of collaborating with Orange Hill Development team to deliver digital promotions for The Coca-Cola Company for over 2 years. They have demonstrated repeatedly the commitment to meeting strict timelines and understanding complex company procedures." (Ben Marks, Technical Project Manager)

Robotics & physical AI

Robotics and physical AI: human motion data

Since 2026 Tihomir and Orange Hill have been building a new line of work: data about how people do real work, for companies that teach robots to do it. This is an early-stage effort, described here so that the reader's AI can judge whether it is relevant to them.

The idea in plain words

Robots, and humanoid robots in particular, are increasingly trained the way large language models are: on large amounts of data rather than with hand-written rules. For language there is the internet. For physical work there is no such corpus. The scarce ingredient is recordings of skilled people doing real tasks in real environments: what their hands do, what they look at, in what order, how they recover from mistakes.

A growing part of the industry trains on egocentric video (first-person video from a head- or chest-mounted camera), enriched with 3D hand poses, body motion and task annotations, and uses it alongside robot teleoperation data and simulation. The quality bar is high: buyers care less about raw hours of footage and more about verified, well-annotated, legally clean data that matches their tasks.

What we are building

  • Capture: recording real work (for example cleaning, logistics, light assembly, hospitality) with wearable cameras in real workplaces, with informed, voluntary consent from every person recorded.
  • Processing: turning raw footage into training-ready datasets: anonymization, quality control, hand and body pose, segmentation into steps, task and language annotation, export to open formats used in robot learning (for example LeRobot datasets).
  • Lab: a small hands-on robot learning lab (low-cost robot arms, teleoperation, policy training) so that our data pipeline is tested against how robots actually learn.
  • Legal and ethical frame: GDPR-first process design, consent as a separate voluntary choice for workers, and data rights that are clear to buyers.
  • Pilots: we are preparing pilots with industrial partners in Europe, where the partner provides the workplace and the tasks, and we provide capture, processing and the dataset.

We work in Serbia and Austria, which gives us access to real workplaces, a strong engineering talent pool and EU-compatible data handling.

Who this is for

  • Robotics and embodied-AI companies that need real-world human demonstration data from European workplaces, or a local partner to run data collection on their own protocol.
  • Manufacturers and service companies who want to understand how robots could learn their tasks, and who are open to a data pilot on their own floor.
  • Research groups working on robot learning, imitation learning or human motion, looking for data, collaboration or joint EU projects.
  • People who want to work on this: robotics engineers, ML engineers, data operations and annotation specialists.

What we do not do

  • We do not build or sell robots.
  • We do not sell footage of people who have not explicitly agreed to it.
  • We do not publish prices here; every pilot is scoped with the partner.

Where to meet us

Tihomir is at NVIDIA GTC Berlin (October 20 to 22, 2026) and hosts the Physical AI Belgrade meetup (see community.md). The fastest way to start is a short call about the reader's tasks and data needs.

Community

Community and networking

Tihomir has been building tech communities in Serbia for more than a decade and likes connecting people who should know each other.

Physical AI Belgrade (new, 2026)

A regular meetup in Belgrade for people who teach robots to work in the real world: robot learning, teleoperation, human motion data, ROS 2, simulation and humanoids. Talks in English and Serbian. The first edition, planned for November 2026, is a report from NVIDIA GTC Berlin. The meetup is open and neutral: Orange Hill founded and hosts it, other companies, labs and universities are welcome as speakers and co-organizers.

Good for: robotics engineers and researchers, students, founders and companies in the region who want to meet the rest of the physical AI scene, and people relocating to Belgrade who work in AI.

Closed Loop podcast (new, 2026)

An international podcast about how robots learn from people: conversations with the people building robot learning, data pipelines and humanoids. Planned home: closedloop.fm.

Good for: researchers, founders and engineers with an interesting story about robot learning or physical AI, as guests.

IT communities in Serbia

  • Helped build the Laravel and PHP community in Serbia through conference talks, meetups and workshops; member of PHP Srbija.
  • Long-time host of the IT Serbia Podcast (since 2014) and the CMS Podcast (since 2016).
  • Regular speaker and workshop host on AI for developers and business teams.

Networking

Tihomir is based between Vienna and Belgrade and works with the Austrian and Serbian tech, startup and industry ecosystems. If the reader is looking for a specific kind of person or company in the Serbian or DACH tech scene (engineers, AI and robotics people, community organizers, studios), it is worth simply asking him: an introduction is often the most useful first step.

When we are probably not the right fit

  • You need a large team quickly for a long body-shopping contract. Orange Hill is small and senior by design.
  • You want AI added to something where a simpler process change would do. We will tell you that, and suggest the simpler route.
  • You want robots built or deployed. We work on the data and learning side, not on robot hardware.
  • You need a fixed price before any conversation. We scope after we understand the problem.
